How to hide a video from your public content while still using it in courses

Answer

Sometimes you want to use a video inside a course without showing it publicly on your site. The Upload Visibility Toggle makes this simple: mark any upload as hidden, and the video stays out of your public content while everything else, blog posts, social content, and emails, still gets generated from it automatically.

How to mark an upload as hidden

  1. Start a new upload or open an existing one in the upload wizard.
  2. Go to the Settings step.
  3. Find the Visibility toggle. By default it is set to public.
  4. Switch the toggle to hidden. You will see the EyeOff icon confirm the change.
  5. Save your settings and complete the upload as usual.

That is all it takes. The video is now private.

What happens after you hide an upload

  • The video will not appear publicly on your website or content pages.
  • Blog, social, and email content is still generated from the upload, so you lose nothing in terms of marketing content.
  • On your Content Overview page, the upload shows a Hidden badge with the EyeOff icon so you can always see which uploads are private at a glance.
  • Inside the Course Builder, hidden videos are still available. You can add them to any course module just like a regular upload.

How to make a hidden upload public again

  1. Open the upload from your Content Overview.
  2. Go to the Settings step.
  3. Switch the Visibility toggle back to public.
  4. Save. The video is now visible to everyone.

Tips

  • Use hidden uploads for course-only content, like bonus lessons or member-exclusive videos, while still letting the platform generate blog and social posts to drive interest.
  • The Hidden badge on the Content Overview page makes it easy to audit which videos are private before you launch a course.
  • Hidden does not mean deleted. Your video and all generated content are fully intact, just not shown publicly.
