Answer
When you change the slug (URL path) of a published blog post or podcast episode, a 301 redirect is automatically created from the old to the new URL. This ensures existing links keep working and preserves your SEO ranking and AI discoverability.
How it works
- Open a published blog post or podcast episode in the editor
- Change the slug field
- An amber warning about the SEO impact will appear
- Save. The 301 redirect is created automatically
Tips
- Only change slugs when truly necessary. Each change affects your discoverability
- The automatic redirect only applies to published content. No redirect is created for drafts
- Redirects appear on your Redirect Links page (Dashboard > My Website > Redirect Links) with source "slug_change"
- Cross-links between blog and podcast are updated automatically, regardless of slug changes
