Importing an existing blog

Answer

You can import your existing blog posts from your current website. The system recognizes the language and imports the articles while preserving the original URL structure.

Steps

  1. Go to Content Engine > Blog and click "Import blog".
  2. Enter the URL of your existing blog.
  3. The system crawls your blog and shows a list of found articles.
  4. Select which articles you want to import. The language is automatically detected.
  5. Optional: enable "Preserve original slugs" to keep your existing URL structure.
  6. Click "Import". The import runs in the background.
  7. After completion you find the imported articles under Content Engine > Blog.

Multilingual import

For multilingual blogs the system imports each language version as a separate article. Each language version automatically gets its own social sharing image (OG image) with the correct title in that language. This works even when both language versions share the same slug ("Preserve original slugs").

Tips

  • For conflicting slugs a suffix is automatically added.
  • The import automatically creates 301 redirects if the path differs, so existing links keep working.
  • After import you can edit and supplement the articles in the blog editor.
