Manage authors and set a default author

Last updated April 25, 2026

Answer

Authors are linked to your blog posts and podcast episodes. Each author gets a Person schema in your website's structured data, which improves your discoverability with AI systems.

Default author

When you create your account, a default author is automatically created based on your name and profile photo. New blog posts and podcast episodes are automatically linked to this author.

You can change the default author at any time via My Website > Authors.

Adding authors

  1. Go to My Website > Authors in the dashboard
  2. Click New author
  3. Enter the name and write a bio
  4. Upload an author photo (cropped to 400x400 pixels)
  5. Check Default if this author should be the default for new content

Multilingual bio

Each author has a bio per language. Fill in the bio for each language you publish in. The correct language version is automatically shown on your public website and in the Person schema.

Where is the author shown?

  • Blog posts: at the bottom of the article as an author card
  • Podcast episodes: in the metadata
  • Schema.org: as Person type in structured data (important for AI discoverability)
  • Course sales page: as instructor

Tips

  • Make sure your default author has a completed bio and photo for maximum AI visibility
  • With multiple authors, you can select the right author per blog post or podcast episode
  • The default author is automatically used when generating content from video uploads
