Creating and managing shortlinks

Last updated March 4, 2026

Answer

With shortlinks you create short, branded URLs on your own domain that redirect to external pages. For example: yourdomain.com/zoom redirects to your Zoom meeting room.

Steps

  1. Go to My Website > Shortlinks in the dashboard.
  2. Click "New shortlink".
  3. Enter the path (for example "zoom" or "linkedin"). You will see a preview of the full URL immediately.
  4. Enter the target URL (the external page you want to redirect to).
  5. Optionally add a label so you can easily recognize the shortlink.
  6. Click "Save".

Tips

  • After saving, it may take up to 30 seconds before the shortlink is active. You will see this confirmed in the notification.
  • Shortlinks work on both your subdomain and your custom domain.
  • Use the copy button to quickly share the shortlink.
  • Click counts are automatically tracked per shortlink.
  • You can temporarily disable a shortlink with the "Active" toggle without deleting it.
  • Certain paths are reserved (such as "blog", "podcast", "contact") and cannot be used as shortlinks.

Automatic redirects on slug changes

In addition to manual shortlinks, 301 redirects are automatically created when you change the slug of a published blog post or podcast episode in the editor. These appear in your redirect list with source "slug_change". This ensures old links keep working and preserves your SEO ranking.
