Setting up a custom domain

Last updated February 26, 2026

Answer

You can connect your own domain name to your website so visitors reach you via for example yourdomain.com instead of yourdomain.identityfirstmedia.com.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Domain in the dashboard.
  2. Enter your domain name (for example yourdomain.com) and click "Add".
  3. You will see DNS instructions: an A record and a CNAME record.
  4. Log in to your domain provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) and add the DNS records.
  5. Return to the dashboard and click "Verify". The system checks whether the DNS records are correctly configured.
  6. After successful verification an SSL certificate is automatically created. This takes a few minutes.

Tips

  • DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate worldwide, but usually it is active within 15 minutes.
  • For a www domain a redirect from the root domain is automatically set up (and vice versa).
  • You can remove the custom domain at any time to return to the subdomain.
