Answer
Nurture sequences are automated email series that guide contacts step by step through a story, educational journey or challenge. There are three types: education (knowledge sharing), story (storytelling) and challenge (activation). When creating a sequence, you choose whether to write emails manually or have AI generate them instantly. Sequences can also start automatically when a contact joins an email list, making it easy to build fully automated welcome or onboarding flows.
Steps
- Go to Email > Automations and click "New sequence".
- Choose the creation mode at the top: "Manual" (add emails yourself) or "Generate with AI" (AI creates emails based on your content).
- Enter a name and choose the type: education, story or challenge.
- Set the number of emails and days between emails.
- For manual: configure the trigger and target list, then add emails on the detail page. Choose "When contact joins a list" as the trigger to enroll contacts automatically as soon as they are added to a specific list.
- For AI generation: select a source (content upload or knowledge base item). After creation, AI automatically generates the emails.
- Reorder emails if needed by dragging them to the right position (see Tips below).
- Activate the sequence when you are satisfied with the content.
Tips
- Education sequences work well as a lead magnet: offer valuable knowledge in exchange for an email address.
- Story sequences build trust. Share personal experiences that align with your identity profile.
- Challenge sequences have the highest engagement. Give participants a concrete task each day.
- The AI generation option is ideal if you already have content uploads or knowledge base items. You can still edit the generated emails afterwards.
- Use the "When contact joins a list" trigger together with a Newsletter CTA block on your page. Visitors sign up inline, confirm via email, and are enrolled in the sequence automatically without any manual steps.
- You can reorder emails in your sequence at any time using drag-and-drop. Simply grab the grip handle on the left side of an email card and drag it to the position you want. The new order is saved automatically.
