Answer
The Community module turns your content into conversations. Every time you publish a blog post, podcast episode, or knowledge base article, a discussion thread can be created automatically so your members have a place to react, ask questions, and engage with each other.
How discussions are created
Discussions are tied directly to your content. You can set them up to appear automatically whenever you publish something new, or you can manage them manually. Each discussion lives on its own thread and shows the reply count, activity, and any AI synthesis that has been generated.
To control how discussions are created:
- Open the Community page from your dashboard.
- Click the settings icon (gear icon) in the top right corner.
- Configure the following options:
- Auto-create: Turn on automatic discussion creation for new content. - Approval mode: Choose whether replies go live immediately or need your approval first. - First reply: Set an opening message from yourself or let AI generate a conversation starter. - Access level: Decide whether discussions are public or visible to members only.
Managing discussions
The Discussions tab gives you an overview of all active and closed threads. You can filter by content type (blog, podcast, knowledge base) or search by title.
For each discussion you can:
- Pin it to keep important threads at the top of the list.
- Close it when a conversation has run its course.
- Request an AI synthesis to automatically summarize the key points from the replies. This is especially useful for long threads with lots of input.
Click any discussion to open it and see the full thread, manage replies, or trigger a synthesis.
Managing members
The Members tab lets you control who has access to your community. You have two options:
- Add members manually by inviting them directly.
- Grant access automatically when someone enrolls in a course or membership.
This makes it easy to offer community access as part of a paid program without any extra manual steps.
Tips
- Use the AI synthesis feature after a lively discussion to capture the highlights and share them back with your audience.
- Setting a warm first reply (from you or AI) encourages members to join the conversation right away.
- Pinning a welcome discussion at the top of your community is a great way to orient new members.
