Rented ground
Your expertise exists, but almost none of it stands on ground you own. It lives in calls, in your head, in feeds and in documents nobody will find. Nothing is lost. It has not been given an address yet.
In calls. In your head. In old episodes. In posts that disappear. In sixteen questions, the Owned Media Audit measures how much of your expertise is actually becoming an asset you own, where the biggest leak is and what we would build first to close it.
Free · 16 questions · ~6 minutes · For people whose thinking is the business, with at least three years of paid work behind them.
“My website finally sounds like me, not like a bot with a generic vocabulary. With one video I can make content for weeks.”
— Martijn Jonkman, Jonkman Strategie
Three kinds of ground
After sixteen questions the audit tells you which ground your work stands on, with a score on the seven things that decide whether your expertise becomes an asset: ownership, authority, discoverability, IP depth, compounding, audience ownership and structure. The weakest one is spelled out as your biggest leak.
Your expertise exists, but almost none of it stands on ground you own. It lives in calls, in your head, in feeds and in documents nobody will find. Nothing is lost. It has not been given an address yet.
You have done real work on your presence: a site, some writing, perhaps a list. But part of it stands on rented ground and the two halves do not connect. Someone who finds one piece does not find the rest.
You have an address, an archive and a relationship with your readers that no platform can switch off. What remains is whether the work on it grows: does every new piece make the earlier ones more valuable, and can a machine read the whole?
Your work stands on one of these three right now. The audit tells you which, and what staying there costs.
What we measured in the market
We asked five AI assistants, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Grok, who they recommend when someone looks for an expert. Across architects, therapists and photographers the same pattern returned: AI names people readily, but which people is decided by how clearly you stand as an entity on your own ground, not by how good you are.
95%
of recommendation queries returned at least one concrete name. AI names someone. The only question is whether it names you.
41%
of the sources AI cited were the expert’s own domain, the largest source in every profession (32 to 41%). Review sites: almost zero.
5
AI assistants, each with its own stable character. Which one your client happens to open helps decide whether you appear at all.
You cannot control which AI your client opens. You can control whether there is an address of your own the answer comes from.

What the audit gives you
Sixteen questions, six minutes, no sign-up. You click through and see your result on the screen.
A score on seven dimensions, and the weakest one spelled out: where your expertise leaks onto ground that is not yours, and what it costs to leave it there.
For your leak, the first piece of infrastructure we would put in place: an address of your own, an archive that connects, a list of your own, an entity layer. Then, if you want, what your own media infrastructure could look like.
Behind the audit
The audit is the first step. Behind it is Identity First Media: from one recorded conversation a week we build a body of work that is yours. Website, articles, podcast, video, email and courses, all on your domain and in your database. Not six services, but six ways into the same body of work. The source is you; the technology gives it form.
A recording is not a week of content. It is a deposit into a body of work that connects what you said before to what you say now, and that gets more valuable every year.
Dutch, English and German, each written natively and never translated. EU-hosted, GDPR-compliant.
The domain in your name, the archive and the list in your database. One button takes everything with you in open formats, any day you choose. Built by Paul Veth, entrepreneur since 2003.
You bring what you know. We build the ground it keeps standing on.
Questions before you start
People whose thinking is the business: consultants, authors, founders, specialists and independent professionals with at least three years of paid work behind them. Not for beginners, and not for those still defining their offer.
Sixteen questions, about six minutes. No knowledge test; questions about where your work lives today and what you could take with you. Your result appears the moment you finish.
Which ground your work stands on (rented, half yours, owned), a score on seven dimensions, your biggest leak spelled out, and what we would build first to close it. If you want the result in your inbox, you leave your email.
No. Being found by AI is a consequence, not a category. The audit measures whether your expertise is becoming something you own: domain, archive, list and structure. Discoverability follows from that.
No. Your result appears on screen. Your email is only needed if you want the audit sent to you. You can unsubscribe with one click.
Nothing. No card, no trial, no sales pitch on the result page. If the reading lands and you want to see what your own infrastructure could look like, the link is there.
We build media companies on your domain, that you own. From one recorded conversation a week: website, articles, podcast, video, email and courses, in your voice, in your database. The domain, the archive and the list stay yours and leave with you if you go.
No. Content is one visible output. The underlying product is infrastructure for your expertise: capture, structure, publishing, ownership and compounding on your own domain.
Everything runs in the EU, under GDPR. The domain is registered in your name. One button takes everything with you in open formats: articles, episodes, contacts, transcripts. Any day, no questions asked.
We bring it across. Your domain, your articles, your podcast and your list move to your own ground at Identity First Media, so what you have built keeps standing and you do not start from scratch.
