Setting up podcast artwork

Last updated April 25, 2026

Answer

You can set up both show artwork (for your entire podcast) and episode artwork (per episode). Episode artwork is automatically generated based on your chosen template and colors.

Setting up show artwork

  1. Go to Content Engine > Podcast and open the podcast settings.
  2. Click the artwork field to upload an image.
  3. Use a square image of at least 1400x1400 pixels (recommended: 3000x3000).
  4. The file must be JPEG or PNG and smaller than 5 MB.
  5. Save the settings. The artwork is automatically included in your RSS feed.

Automatically generating episode artwork

  1. Go to Content Engine > Podcast and open the podcast settings.
  2. Scroll to the Artwork template section.
  3. Choose a layout: Centered, Left-aligned, or Editorial.
  4. Set your colors: background, text, and accent color.
  5. Optionally: toggle "Show episode number" and "Show tagline" on or off.
  6. Click Generate podcast artwork to generate the show artwork and per-language variants.
  7. For each episode, a square artwork (3000x3000) and wide format (1200x630) are automatically created based on this template.

How does it work per episode?

  • When creating or importing an episode, artwork is automatically generated.
  • The square artwork appears as a thumbnail in podcast apps.
  • The wide artwork is used as the og:image (social media previews).
  • The episode title, number, and your podcast name are automatically included in the artwork.

Tips

  • Use a clearly readable title on your artwork. On mobile devices, the image is small.
  • Spotify reads the og:image from your web page, not the itunes:image from your RSS feed. Make sure the og:image is square.
  • You can change the artwork template at any time. Existing episodes keep their artwork, new ones get the new design.
  • You can generate separate artwork per language via the podcast settings.
